MUSEUM OF AMERICAN GLASS
STRETCH GLASS DISPLAY
We would like to thank The Museum of American Glass in Weston, West Virginia (www.magwv.com) for hosting the largest exhibit of stretch glass ever on display in a museum. The exhibit was sponsored by the Stretch Glass Society in honor of our 40th anniversary, and showcased over 150 examples of vintage and contemporary stretch glass including approximately 100 shapes and 15 colors. The Stretch Glass Society undertook the exhibit in connection with fulfilling its mission of promoting iridescent stretch glass and providing opportunities to see and learn about the variety of items produced in stretch glass from nut cups to candlesticks and comports. The Stretch Glass Society is extremely grateful to the Museum of American Glass in West Virginia for providing the opportunity and space to showcase iridescent stretch glass in conjunction with our 40th Anniversary in June, July and August, 2014. If you were in the area for one of the past Glass conventions and had a chance to check out the museum's displays, the Stretch Glass Society wishes to thank you for visiting the museum and helping us celebrate our 40thAnniversary. The museum has a permanent exhibit of stretch glass. Be sure to check out www.magwv.com to see what new exhibits are on display now.
